Career Exploration

Exploring career options is important as you move through Brown. For some it’s a logical next step but for many others it seems daunting. It needn’t be. Think about it as your time to reflect on who you are, what you enjoy doing and what’s important to you. Reflection and exploration will help you to find satisfying opportunities that are a great fit.

You’ve arrived at Brown with a wealth of skills and a range of experiences. Those past experiences coupled with what you do here will help you think about next steps.

Think broadly about careers. Consider that a career is not just what job you’ll do as you launch from Brown but how you’ll develop your future path.

The process of exploration can help you to make informed choices about what you do in and outside of the classroom. Are you considering internships, service, research, study abroad, or fellowships? Are you involved as a peer advisor, a student leader or an athlete? Are you thinking about how the concentration you’re passionate about will prepare you for the world of work?

Your unique Brown experience will help you to decide what first steps you’ll take as you graduate from Brown, how you’ll navigate next steps and what mark you’ll make in the world.

Career exploration is manageable and enjoyable.
